When I was a little girl, I was visiting my Grandmother when she asked me if I'd seen her Dearest Bracelet.  Of course I didn't even know what a Dearest bracelet was...only that my Grandma was upset about losing it.

When I asked my Mom about it, she told me that my Grandpa had given her that bracelet, and that it was very special to her.  She'd been looking for it everywhere!  She said that it was a bracelet with precious stones that spelled DEAREST. 

She went on to explain that when you took the first letter of each of these SEVEN gems, they spelled the word DEAREST. 

                                                                                    "D" for Diamond

                                                                                    "E" for Emerald

                                                                                    "A" for Amethyst

                                                                                    "R" was Ruby

                                                                                    "E" again was Emerald

                                                                                    "S" from Sapphire

                                                                                    "T" from Topaz

Years later, as I began to make jewelry, I designed a DEAREST bracelet using Swarovski Crystal in place of the precious gems. 

The first one I made, of course went to my Grandmother!

This bracelet also inspired my MOTHER, SISTER, DAUGHTER, FRIEND and FROG bracelets...
